Oak Frame Extension with Sling Brace Trusses.

Location

Situated in Dippenhall, Farnham

The property

The property is a new build home surrounded by fields with far stretching views over Farnham town. Built to a vey high standard by JRB building ltd we were subcontracted to fabricate and install this oak frame.

The process

  • Design drawings provided by Foundations architects were provided and a preliminary fee for our works was offered and accepted.
  • On this occasion, John Wilson from foundations architects visited the workshop to discuss the incorporation of decretive chamfer details and peg locations to complement the historic oak frames within the village.
  • A timber list was provided and approved, the oak was then sourced and delivered to our workshop and the build commenced.
  • The oak frame was fabricated using traditional jointing techniques and the curved sling braces were shaped with our specialist machinery.
  • Upon completion, the frame was disassembled and transported to site.
  • The frame was erected within a day with the help of a crane.
